AMPUTEE SERVICES
PETERBOROUGH REGIONAL HEALTH CENTER (PRHC)
Near Downtown Peterborough, the hospital has an amputation rehabilitation centre which helps individuals learn how to walk or use their new limb and prosthetics care education. This is available Tuesday-Friday in the morning. This can be accessed by anyone, not only new members of the amputee community.
PROSTHETICS BRACING ORTHOTICS (PBO)- KAWARTHA REGION
Located Downtown Peterborough on Hunter St. is a prosthetics clinic. This service is assessable without a doctor's referral and they work closely with you in assessing all forms of potential funding costs as they can vary in prices. They also have multiple prosthetics available to fit your needs.
PETERBOROUGH TRANSPORTATION AND TRANSCAB
In Peterborough there is a bussing system to get around within the main city limits. If you live on the outer side of Peterborough, there is a transportation system called Transcab which helps those living in Peterborough where the bus does not reach them. For more information visit thebus.ca.
